Abstract: The textiles which have been found in the Chehrabad mine, Zanjan, Are the fragments related to the Salt-Men, which antiquity is up to 2300 years. These fragments are so precious due to their historic, artistic, and archeological aspects and specially based on the spinning and weaving techniques, being used in their fabrication. In this project, a research was extensively implemented on their technology of spinning, fiber kind, spin of the yarns, weaving plan, motifs, dyes, and mordants. Various tests, such as macroscopic, microscopic, chemical and mycology tests were applied regarding this project. These tests, not only figured out the technical aspect of these textiles but also, shoed lots of mechanical, physical, chemical and microbiological harms. Beside the technical and the pathological researches, a study was done about the usual and also modern methods of conservation and restoration of the archeological textiles. After all of these studies, it was time to choose the best methods and materials which could correspond, the best to the special condition of the textile fragments of Salt-Men. Therefore, selected materials and methods were firstly executed on some samples. The best method and materials have been chosen to be applied on some limited specimens. At last the most appropriate method, materials, and conservation plan were suggested.
